Jacob and Ephraim are both still LOVING swimming lessons! It is amazing to me how much they are learning while having fun at the same time.
Jacob loves all the fun games that they play at swim lessons. He also likes to kick his legs on the side of the pool. This is great because he didn't even like getting splashed before swimming lessons!
Both of the boys have had the chance to use a pool noodle to ride in a train to the deep end of the pool. Then when they are at the deep end they practice jumping in or splashing.
They play a game called "Little Monkeys" where the kids are the Monkeys and the teacher is the alligator. For Ephraim's class the teachers grab the little monkeys and pull them into the water.
For Jacob's class they are little Monkeys "dancing" on the side of the pool that jump in to get cool. It is so cute to watch them dancing on the deck. It cracks me up!
I knew that Ephraim would do well in his class, but I have been surprised at the progress Jacob has made! By the end of the fourth day he was putting his whole head under water. When I asked him about it Jacob told me that the part he didn't like was getting water in his eyes. So we picked him up some goggles at the dollar store and that seemed to help a lot.
Today Jacob and Ephraim's classes played some games together. Check out how well Jacob was doing:
Can you see Jacob in the picture above? No! That's because he's UNDER the water! Here he comes:
Hooray Jacob! You did it!
I watched Jacob today and he must have put his head under water almost 10 times! I was so proud of him. It seems that he is no longer afraid of getting his head wet!
As a matter of fact, he seems to be turning into a little fish! Here he is swimming with his head under the water!
Maybe he will turn into a swimmer like his Daddy. I am so glad that we put the kids in swimming lessons. We are planning to sign up for another session in August so that we can solidify all the skills that the boys have learned. They have been doing great and I am such a proud mommy!
So great and so much fun! And, go Jacob!!
