Ephraim at nine months

Our little baby boy is NINE MONTHS old! Time goes by so quickly! I actually missed his eight month post and pictures because the time just got away from me.

Just look at how much he has grown! If you want to see all of his monthly photos, just click on the "bear compare" label below. It's amazing how fast these little ones grow!

What a sweet boy! Don't let the innocent face fool you though... he is into anything and everything! Ephraim crawls incredibly fast! I guess he is just trying to keep up with that brother of his. Not only is Ephraim crawling, he is already pulling up on things and cruising around the furniture!

Can I just tell you how hard it was to get these photos! This boy is lightening-quick. He does not want to hold still because then he might miss out on some of the action.

Here is a photo of his cute little backside... which is probably what I see most! Hehe! I have had to move things around quite a bit because he can reach the top of the coffee table, the end table in my bedroom, the bench in his room, the piano bench... and on and on! Ephraim is very curious and wants to touch EVERYTHING.

He also adores his older brother. When I was trying to get Ephraim's photos, Jacob had to run and get his bear to have his picture taken too. Aren't they cute!

I love my boys. Some days they may test my patience and drive me a bit crazy... but they are worth it. They bring me such happiness and joy.

In other developments... Ephraim has decided that he can crawl up the stairs. I caught him the other day when he was already on his way up. What a character!

See ya Mommy!

This isn't so hard.

Are you still watching me?!

Look how high up I am!

He nearly gave me a heart attack! I've got to keep my eye on this one!

We have our doctor's appointment tomorrow, so I will have to update you with all the stats later. The boys will both be getting flu shots too, so that should be tons of fun. ;o)

I have been working on getting out the next size up clothes for Ephraim because he is growing so fast. I can't help but smile and reminisce when I look at Jacob's old clothes. I remember how little he once was and it amazes me. Then at the same time I look at the clothes and think about how BIG my little Eper-beeper is getting. It's so crazy.

We love both our boys and are glad they are part of our family. It is going to be so much fun sharing Christmas with them this year!

Ephraim at Seven Months

I looked at the calendar this week and thought, "Oh my goodness! Ephraim is seven months old already!" Time sure flies when you are having fun! And who wouldn't be having fun with a boy this cute?

I guess you could say that in the past month Ephraim has become a lot more mobile. I had a VERY hard time taking these photos because he just wanted to get back on his hands and knees and get moving.

He is really starting to figure out this crawling thing. He still belly-flops quite often, but he's getting better. Now I never know where I will find this little guy. He seems to be enjoying his new found freedom. If I set him down in the kitchen he can come find me in the living room. If I set him down in the living room he can head down the hall to come and find me.

I actually had to snap these photos quickly because Jacob does not want me to take photos of Ephraim by himself. He always steps in front of the camera, which drives me crazy. Jacob wants me to take pictures of him instead, but then he always makes funny faces.

After I took these pictures of Ephraim, Jacob wanted me to take his picture too. I was working on getting the boys baths, so here is Jacob in the tub.

Don't let this photo fool you... he's not bashful at all.

Here is another blackmail photo for later. Don't you think his girlfriends will need to see this one? What a cute little nudie-patootie!

Ephraim (and Jacob) at Six Months

Can you believe it? Yesterday was Ephraim's half-birthday. He is now six months old and doesn't he look like a happy boy?

Not only is he rolling himself all over the house and trying to figure out how to crawl, but it also seems that Ephraim is starting to master the art of sitting up all by himself. He is getting pretty good at keeping his balance, but he gets very indignant if you let him fall over.

Just look at how BIG he is! He is growing so fast. This week I had to get out the six to nine month clothes because his other clothes were starting to seem a bit small. I was experiencing a bit of nostalgia as I looked through all the clothes that Jacob wore when he was little.

There was one outfit in particular that I thought was adorable, so I dressed Ephraim in those clothes and took a couple of pictures. Then I went and found some pictures of Jacob in the same outfit. In these pictures Jacob is about five and a half months old, and Ephraim is six months old on the dot. What do you think of these boys?

Isn't it fun to check them both out in the same clothes? I think they look related, but quite a bit different. I guess we'll see how they turn out as they get a little bit older. They are definitely both cute, don't you think?

As I was looking through their clothes, I also noticed that apparently 6-9 months or larger is the size of clothing that people don't give you at baby showers. I had SO many clothes in the smaller sizes! I probably could have dressed Ephraim in a different outfit every day for a few weeks. Now my choices are a bit more limited. We have received some cute clothing in bigger sizes this time around, so that has been nice.

I need to try to get a video of Ephraim trying to crawl. He gets himself up on his hands and toes and then doesn't quite know what to do. He is getting pretty good at turning himself around using his arms, and he pushed himself backwards occasionally.

Pretty soon he is going to be roaming all over the house with his brother... probably getting into trouble together!

Ephraim at five months

Ephraim is already five months old, can you believe it? Here is a photo that I took just this afternoon:

It's hard to believe that once upon a time that little bear was the same size as he was! He is getting SO big! He likes to sit up more and more. He enjoys it when we put him in his exersaucer or bouncer and he is getting pretty good at standing and holding up his weight.

Another thing he is good at is rolling over. Now whenever I put him down and walk away, I never know where I will find him when I come back. Mostly he seems to run into the coffee table and couches and then he gets indignant... like, "Who put that there?" .

I shot a great video the other day of Ephraim rolling over. I had to sit there for a while and pretend I wasn't watching him before I could catch him doing it!

So now I often find Ephraim on his tummy and I think he is starting to enjoy it. Sometimes he rolls over after waking up from a nap and then he complains that his bed is not quite spacious enough for rolling.

This kid will be crawling before you know it!

We love Ephraim so much! He is a very happy and cheerful baby. He loves to smile and laugh. Check out these other photos I took of Mr. Personality this afternoon (You'll notice that he has also discovered his toes recently).

It is so much fun to have Ephraim laugh and smile at us. He is especially fascinated by his big brother. Once this week Joe was tickling Jacob and he was giggling and screaming with glee. Ephraim was very concerned about the whole thing and started to cry. I can already tell that they are going to be great friends.

Mommy, Daddy, and Jacob all love our little Ephraim (aka. Eper-beeper). Then again, who wouldn't love a face like this?

Ephraim at Four Months

Can you believe that Ephraim is four months old now? Just look at how big he is getting!

He is such a cute boy! In the last month he has decided that his hand (and everything else) belongs in his mouth. So far it doesn't look like he's getting any teeth, he's just exploring his world with his tongue.

Ephraim's little personality is showing more each day. Each morning we wake up to hear him cooing in his crib. When we walk in to get him, his little face breaks into a huge smile. He loves to babble at us, and he gives us all big dimpled smiles. He loves to be bounced up and down as if he was jumping on his pudgy little legs. He is starting to figure out how to laugh, and that is the best way to get him to do it.

Ephraim's hair has been getting lighter each week. I think he may end up being a blondie just like his brother. He is also getting better at sitting up and holding his head up when we put him on his tummy.

Ephraim has rolled over once, but hasn't repeated it yet. I'm sure that before long he will be rolling around and then crawling. They grow up so fast!

Ephraim has been sleeping through the night for a while now, which is fabulous! He usually wakes up around 6:30. That's about when Jacob wakes up, so we all cuddle in bed for a little while. I have so much fun with my boys, and we love them both so much.

Three months old

Dear Ephraim,

My sweet baby boy... Can you believe that it has only been three short months since you joined our family? Somehow it seems to me that you have always been a part of our family and I can't imagine life without you! We love you so much and are so glad you came to us.

I can't believe how much you have changed in three months! When we first brought you home from the hospital you spent most of your time sleeping (with the exception being the wee hours around 1-4 AM), and I would get up with you three or four times a night. Now you will sleep all night and wake up around 6 or 7 AM. It is SO wonderful and you have a much happier mommy.

Another improvement is the amount of diapers that we change in a day. I swear that when we brought you home we probably used at least 15 diapers a day... no joke! But now we only use about 6 or so. Not only is that more pleasant for mommy and daddy, it is also much more economical!

I can't believe how much you've grown in three months! When you were born you were so tiny. You looked so skinny and had the cutest little chicken legs. Now you are starting to get those cute chubby baby rolls that I love so much! You are such a cute, happy, healthy boy.

You are starting to show us your little personality. You make the greatest faces and have the cutest little dimpled smile. I love to sit and talk with you. You were a very quiet baby at first and mostly just cried when you were upset, but you have certainly found your voice. It is fun to hear all the sounds you make and the cute expressions on your face.

Your Daddy calls you Mr. Wiggles because you move a whole lot more than you used to! Daddy and I think that you are getting close to rolling over, can you believe it?! I took this video of you this week when you were feeling especially wiggly.

You are getting so strong! All that wiggling has made some pretty good muscles! You hold your head up whenever I put you on my shoulder for some burps (you are a champion burper, by the way!), and you are getting better at lifting it up when I put you on your tummy.

I love that you are becoming aware of the world around you. Whenever I come to get you out of your crib you look right at me with your beautiful, deep-blue eyes and then flash that dimpled smile at me. You are so cute it melts my heart! You are constantly looking around and discovering new things. Just this week you discovered that you have hands... and they are yummy (but only if you shove in the whole fist)!

We love you so much! We look forward to all the months and milestones to come.

Ephraim at 2 months

Time flies when you're having fun! I realized today that I needed to get Ephraim's two month comparison photo put up because before long we will get busy with Grandpa and Grandma Devereaux visiting, then the baby blessing, and before you know it he will be three months old!

Look how much Ephraim has grown! (click on the "bear compare" label to see all the photos) Not only has he increased in stature, he is also more active and playful now...

I love that babies become more interactive the older they get. Ephraim is so much fun! He is so alert during the day and he wiggles a lot more. He is also becoming quite a talker. Maybe that is why Joe calls him Mr. Wiggles and Giggles.

I just love his little dimpled smile. I enjoy "talking" with him and seeing all the expressions on his little face. So I couldn't help myself. I had to post another video of Ephraim talking and you can see how much more vocal he is becoming.

Ephraim at 17 days

Here is a cute picture that I took of Ephraim today with the teddy that he brought Jacob at the hospital. I plan on taking a picture every month just like this so I can see how Ephraim grows. Isn't that a great idea? I stole it from my friend Melinda, so you can thank her. :o)
